Erfurt Paste for Woodchip (Rauhfaser) and Paper Wallpapers
The Erfurt Rauhfaser paste has been specially developed for wallpapers that require a soaking time. This makes the adhesive ideal for woodchip (Rauhfaser) wallpapers as well as heavy paper wallpapers. To prepare the paste, it must first be mixed with water. After approx. 10 minutes, it is ready for use and can be applied either traditionally by hand using a pasting table and brush, or with a pasting machine. One package of paste covers approx. 30 m². Furthermore, the adhesive stands out with its high initial tack and excellent adjustability on the wall.
Application: The surface must be smooth, firm, dry, clean, load-bearing, and free from any intermediate layers that might impair adhesion. Existing coatings must be checked for suitability, load-bearing capacity, and adhesion. Damaged or unsuitable coatings must be removed and disposed of according to regulations. Size paint (distemper) must be washed off thoroughly. Highly absorbent surfaces should be pre-pasted or, if necessary, treated with a wallpaper primer.
Sprinkle the contents of the package into approx. 6 liters of cold water while stirring vigorously. Leave to swell, and after approx. 3 minutes, stir vigorously again. After another 5 minutes, the paste is ready to use.
